Elizabeth Piazza’s creative practice is steeped in the tradition of art history and design, the vision for preservation, and the celebration of family and community. Rooted in her life-long love affair with the area, Lizzie has been on the forefront of cultural renaissance in Historic Downtown Brunswick and the Golden Isles. At Port City Partners, she channels fifteen years of experience in the international art world as a blue-chip curator, appraiser and advisor blending it with her love for local revitalization and place-making.
Within the community, Lizzie’s love for the arts, and passion for children and families takes center stage. Lizzie co-founded and is a current chair of Safe Harbor Center’s nationally recognized, award-winning Champions for Children Campaign, and serves on the board of CASA Glynn and of the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Georgia. Lizzie formerly served as chair of the Brunswick Mural Project (on view throughout the Downtown core); on the steering committee for the COLORS Museum project (on view at the Lucas Center and Economic Development Authority). Lizzie served on the advisory board of KidsPort Children’s Museum, and is a sustainer with the Junior League of the Golden Isles after years of active leadership in the New York Junior League. She is a member of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, having won two awards for the art and design in the development of the Leotis building (Port City Lofts) and Queen and Grant alongside her husband Brad, with whom she shares her membership in the Friends of Coastal Georgia History. Lizzie and Brad were also the recipients of the Historic Brunswick Foundation’s 2022 Preservation awards for their development of the Bijou Building and Port City Park. She was the Curator of Benjamin Galland’s 2020 “Georgia Has a Coast” exhibition at the Leotis building and “A Rising Tide Lifts All Ships” Group Exhibition and Artist Award Program at Port City Park in 2021.
