Nordista Freeze to Play an Outdoor Set in Port City Park, Downtown Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, GA., May 12, 2021 — Nashville-based rock frontman Nordista Freeze will be performing a live show this Sunday, May 16, 2021, in downtown Brunswick, Ga.

The event takes place at Port City Park, located adjacent to the historic Bijou Theatre building, on 1313 Newcastle St. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the show is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $5 (free for kids 10 and under). Attendees can also stake a claim at a private VIP table for a group reserve fee of $100.

Food will be available for purchase courtesy of South of Heaven BBQ, a local favorite. Attendees can bring their own chairs, blankets, and other picnic accoutrement.

The performing musician, Nordista Freeze, is a rising star of the Nashville independent music scene. His music is self-described as "psych pop", notable for its groovy jams, 60s pop style harmonics, and high-energy live performances. Like its star, the music is a bit eclectic and feels marginally rough around the edges, only to win you over with its charms and seemingly infinite energy.

NPR once profiled the artist as "the most beautiful and perfect example of the Nashville music scene" while considering his music “as good-natured as it is brightly infectious" and noting "it sounds like an unseasonably pleasant spring Saturday in song form.”

The eponymous lead vocalist puts on around 150 shows in a year, mostly booked and organized through his own DIY touring efforts. However, the show this Sunday was organized in partnership with local Brunswick-based developers and property managers Port City Park, alongside the artist management firm Small Fry, Inc.

Nordista Freeze's upcoming show represents one of the first public events held at Port City Park, a mixed-use public/private event venue located on the historic Bijou Theatre property. Carpeted by a lush green lawn and surrounded by a modern-chic pine privacy fence, the event space is a picturesque setting perfect for Sunday evening relaxation. Its layout allows plenty of room for mingling and dancing, all at a comfortable distance. Families are encouraged to bring along children and everyone in the household to join in on the fun.

"We are so excited to bring such a vibrant, fun group to perform in our local community," expressed Brad Piazza, founder of Port City Partners, the firm that designed, developed, and now manages the space. "I know a lot of people are excited about the recent great weather, and this is a great opportunity for people to take in an engaging musical act outdoors with their friends and family."

The concert is one of the first in what is intended to become an ongoing series. Piazza hopes that performances and events in Port City Park will become a staple of the Spring/Summer season in historic downtown Brunswick. Such a series could not only provide locals and out-of- towners with more to do in the area, but it would also bring foot traffic that supports local businesses.
